Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022
Thursday 2 June
10am – 1pm – Adlington Library
Craft activity: Come along and join in the Crown Jewels craft making session at Adlington Library, Railway Road, PR6 9RG.
11am – 2pm – Little Manor Day Nursery
Craft activity: Come along and join in family arts and craft making activities of posters, flags and hats. Tea, coffee, and soft drinks available with a confectionery stall on the car park at Little Manor Day Nursery, 90 Railway Road, PR6 9RB.
11am – 5pm – St Paul’s Church
Family Fun Day: There will be live music, a fully licensed outdoor bar and seating, children’s entertainment, strawberry teas plus local food and craft stalls at St Paul’s Church and School grounds, Railway Road, PR6 9QZ.
1pm – 3pm – Jubilee Recreation Ground
Freestyle urban soccer: A free of charge youth Street Soccer and Urban Sports activity session at Jubilee Recreation Ground, Station Rd, Adlington, Chorley PR7 4HQ.
1:30pm – United Reformed Church
Friendship Group: Come along for an afternoon tea on the basis of a “Jacobs Join” at United Reformed Church, Railway Road, PR6 9QZ.
3pm – Noah’s Ark – FULLY BOOKED
Craft activity: Come and join us for a selection of Jubilee craft and refreshments in collaboration with Moho Crafts. Places need to be pre-booked with a maximum of 20 places at Noah’s Ark, 104 Chorley Road, Adlington, Chorley, PR6 9LG.
9:15pm – Rivington Pike
Walk: The beacon will be lit to coincide with the national initiative. A piper and a bugler will be also
be performing at Rivington Pike, BL6 7SB. Please walk to the pike if you are able to, otherwise parking is available at Rivington Barn and Rivington walkers.
9:30pm – Adlington Cricket Club
Social: If you aren’t able to walk up to Rivington Pike then come along to Adlington Cricket Club, Huyton Road, PR7 4HD and view the lighting of the beacon from there. The clubhouse will be open.
Friday 3 June

Saturday 4 June
11am – 3pm – St Joseph’s Church grounds
Lunch: A traditional Scout hotpot lunch and a chat under canvas. The hotpot is free for pensionable aged residents. Delivery of hotpot can be arranged for anyone locally who isn’t able to attend in person by calling 07764 861319. For families, light refreshments are available and a series of games, puzzles and challenges to take part in at St Joseph’s Church grounds at the side of the Church, PR6 9NA.
12:30pm – Adlington Cricket Club
Cricket match: Come and watch a cricket match. Adlington 1st XI are at home to Astley & Tyldesley 2nd XI at Adlington Cricket Club, Huyton Road, PR7 4HD.
1pm – 5pm – Adlington & District Community Centre
Tea Dance: Bring your own picnic Street Party/Tea Dance with 50’s style music. Advanced table reservations available, or walk in on the day on a first come first served basis. Primary School Art Competition: The Adlington and District Councils’ QPJ Primary Schools’ exhibition of local children’s artwork showcasing the winning entries of a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II at Adlington and District Community Centre, Railway Road, PR6 9RF.

Teddy Bears Picnic: Adlington St Paul’s Guides, Brownies and Rainbows ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ for families to join, with games, songs and s’mores around the campfire at Fairview Youth and Community Centre, Highfield Rd North, PR6 9RN.

Murder Mystery: You’re invited to join celebrity Spookbusters, Clare Voyant and Si Kick inside the Great Hall of Snetterdale Castle as they attempt to contact the ghost of Duke William Longbottom who was murdered in a most grisly fashion in 1485. Sunday 5 June
11am and 1pm – Adlington Library
Street Party: Come along and join in the library street party from 11am and also see the display of Jubilee memorabilia and posters. At 1pm watch the Coronation film at Adlington Library, Railway Road, PR6 9RG.
2pm – 7pm – Adlington Cricket Club
Social: Sunday by the Square is informal with outside seating, the bar will be open and there will be music, and bouncy castles on the field for the children. Food will be available to buy from The Humble Kitchen Company or bring your own picnic at Adlington Cricket Club, Huyton Road, PR7 4HD.
10am and 2pm – Fairview Youth & Community Centre
Football: Adlington Junior Football Club (AJFC) are playing. In the morning will be under 7’s and 8’s and in the afternoon under 9’s and 10’s. at Fairview Youth & Community Centre, Highfield Rd North, PR6 9RN.

Craft activity: Come along and join in with crown themed craft activities free of charge at The Rail Weigh, 3, Railway Road, PR7 4EH.
Jubilee Trail
Craft activity: Design a window display or poster to celebrate the Jubilee with your trail number obtained from the trail Facebook group. A list of all participating streets will be published for residents to search for all the numbers and to walk around to view the decorations. Search on Facebook for the Adlington, Anderton and Heath Charnock Community Led Events Group to private message them for your trail number.
Also look out for the houses that will be displaying the children’s art work competition entries they did
of a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II; in addition to the ones on display in the Adlington & District Community Centre on Saturday 4 June.
